If you’ve read any of my posts, you’ll know that one of the best things you can do to be more productive and organised is to make a study schedule. However, that can be pretty challenging, especially when you have lots of things to study. Here’s a comprehensive guide to making a study schedule that might help you out!
Create a to-do list
The first thing you should to is create a comprehensive list of what you need to study. Try to include the subjects you need to study and the study methods you’ll use. This way, you won’t miss out on any important tasks, and it’ll be easier to plan later!
Prioritise study sessions
Now that you have your list, order the tasks from most important to least. Consider things like urgency: think about when the next test for that subject is. Also, consider the yield: if you’re struggling with maths, then studying maths is more important than studying English!
Find your “prime time”
Everyone has a time during which they’re most productive – try to study then! If you don’t know your prime time, track your energy levels throughout the day to find it. Also, try to avoid scheduling study sessions when you feel more tired and unmotivated, since there’s a higher chance that you’ll skip studying. Instead, schedule in easy and enjoyable tasks!
Tips for planning
Make sure you overestimate rather than underestimate your study sessions. This ensures that if it takes you longer than expected, you won’t fall behind! Also, schedule in your chores+ appointments + self-care time before your study sessions!
Be specific
When scheduling your study sessions, be really specific about what you’ll do! Write down the subject you’ll study, the study method, and the end goal. This way, you’ll 100% know what to do so you’ll be less likely to procrastinate!
