The key to a productive morning routine

Pretty much any productivity expert will tell you that your morning is important: it sets the stage for the rest of the day. So, how do you have a productive morning?

Don’t snooze

If you want to start your day in the right mindset, don’t snooze your alarm clock. That’s because it’ll get you into the mindset of procrastinating and putting things off. Not snoozing is an easy win in the morning that can motivate you to spend your day productively.

Take care of yourself

Do an easy act of self-care in the morning to help you feel as though you’re not girlrotting (even if you are!) This is especially important of you feel as though you’ve been losing motivation lately. Do your skincare, take a shower, or brush your hair. This is another easy win that can get you into a productive mindset for the day. You’ll feel as though you’ve already accomplished something!

Do some exercise

Exercise is a great source of endorphins. This doesn’t have to be a lot – go for a walk or run, or do a quick workout. It really doesn’t matter what you do as long as 1) you enjoy it and 2) you get your blood pumping! Not only are you starting your day off happier, but it’s another easy win!

Do something enjoyable

In the morning, try to set aside a couple of minutes for yourself to do something you enjoy. Text a friend, read a book, or practice a hobby. However, try not to spend time on social media, since you might find it hard to get back into a productive mindset. Also, there is a lot of negativity on social media, and you don’t need to see that first thing in the morning.

Plan out your day

Finally, decide what you want to accomplish today. This way, you’re less likely to waste time procrastinating. You can use any method – like making a to-do list or scheduling your day in your planner – but ensure that you have a clear objective and focus for the day.
