The night before a test can be the most stressful time, so it’s important to spend this time productively and effectively. Here are a few things you should do the night before an important test or exam!
- Get enough sleep
- Exercise a little
- Try meditation
- Do some light revision
- Gather your materials
Get enough sleep
I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again – enough sleep is absolutely essential to getting your target grades. This is because sleep improves both your memory and your attention span, which means that your grades and test results will increase! Try to avoid any blue light at least 30 minutes before sleeping so that your sleep isn’t interrupted.
Exercise a little
Exercising is really beneficial to studying. It can improve your problem-solving skills and your memory skills, which is super helpful for an exam! Make sure you don’t do anything too strenuous though, since then you might be too tired the next day – just a short walk or cycle is enough 🙂
Try meditation
If you struggle with exam stress, then try to do some meditation or other mindfulness exercises! Meditation is super beneficial as it can decrease your anxiety before a test, which allows you to enter the exam room with a calm and ready mind.
Do some light revision
The day before, try to quickly look over what you learnt. Don’t do anything too difficult though, since this might just cause you undue stress. Instead, do something light, like quizzing yourself or doing some flashcards. This helps refresh your memory before an exam!
Gather your materials
Make sure that you have everything you need before an exam. You don’t want to be scrambling in the morning, looking for your calculator or pencil. The night before, lay out everything you need so that you can find it easily the next morning!
