How to maintain good school-life balance!

Everyone wants to have it all, and it can’t be that hard, right? Wrong! Schoolwork can become a lot to manage, and it can be hard to stay on top of it and maintain good grades while also having time for the things you like. Here are some tips that might help you with this struggle!

Make a study schedule

By making a study schedule or study plan, you’ll be able to stay on top of your work. Use apps like Google Calendar or make a bullet journal to help you create a schedule that works for you. First, schedule in school and other responsibilities. Then, decide on when you want to study each subject, and how long for. Make sure you set aside some time each week for your hobbies and interests!

Stay consistent

It’s better to maintain a steady level of consistency than to rush to get your work done. Try to do assignments and homework as soon as they’re set; study for assessments well in advance to avoid cramming and stress. Stay on top of your responsibilities by making to-do lists or habit trackers!

Use active recall

Try to reduce the time you spend studying by using active recall. With active recall, you’ll learn more in the same amount of time as with passive recall. Use study methods like past papers, practice questions, and flashcards! I have a whole video explaining active recall that you might find helpful 🙂

Don’t overwork yourself

To have a good school-life balance, try not to take on too much work, since this can quickly lead to burnout. If you decide to take 20 GCSEs, then you won’t have time for anything but studying. Make sure you’re spending time on responsibilities that are actually useful!

Use fun study methods

By making studying fun, you’ll be more willing to actually study. This can stop procrastination so you’ll have more time for the things you enjoy. Try to use fun active recall study methods like Blooket or Quizlet!
