Every year, we all aspire to become better people and achieve our goals. But what’s the key to becoming a better person? Habits. We’ve talked about habits so much here: starting new ones, breaking old ones, and productive habits. This time, we’re talking about good habits to start this year.

Study habits

If your goal is to become a more consistent & successful student:

  • Do homework the day it’s set
  • Study for tests a week in advance
  • Use anki daily
  • Stick to your study schedule
  • Answer 10 practice questions

Language habits

If your goal is to learn a new language or improve an existing one:

  • Do 15 minutes of Duolingo
  • Have a conversation with a native speaker
  • Listen to a podcast episode
  • Read 5 pages in your target language
  • Conjugate 10 verbs

Mental health habits

If your goal is to take care of your mental health to be happier & less stressed:

  • Write 3 things you’re grateful for
  • Meditate for 15 minutes
  • Start journalling weekly
  • Make your bed in the morning
  • Take short but regular breaks

Productivity habits

If your goal is to be a more productive, organised, and successful person:

  • Plan your day the night before
  • Choose your top 3 tasks that you’ll focus on
  • Block distracting websites
  • Limit your screen time to an hour a day
  • Write a to-do list

Health habits

If your goal is to be more healthy and take better care of yourself:

  • Drink 3-4l of water
  • Exercise for 30 minutes a day
  • Avoid foods that make you feel bad
  • Get 8 hours of sleep every night
  • Don’t skip your skincare
