Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and your morning routine is the most important routine of the day. It’s super important to start your day off right so that you can be super productive for the rest of the day!
- Sleep properly
- Wake up!!!
- Take care of yourself
- Meditate
- Food + water
- Learn something new
Sleep properly
Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep! It’s not worth studying until 1am then waking up at 7am, since being sleepy will make you much less productive. If you stuggle with falling asleep, turn off your devices an hour or two before you sleep. Instead of scrolling through Instagram, try reading a book 🙂
Wake up!!!
The most important part of your morning routine is to actually wake up. If you sleep through your alarm, your morning will be stressful as you hurry to get to school/college/work on time. Try setting multiple alarms 3 minutes apart if you keep snoozing your alarm. Alternatively, move your phone to another room, so you’ll be forced to walk to turn it off, making you more awake and alert!
Take care of yourself
A good morning will set your outlook for the rest of the day, so set aside time to relax and take care of yourself. Obviously, this doesn’t have to be a 3-hour spa trip. Taking a hot shower, doing your skincare, or reading a book can all be forms of self care 🙂
Meditate
Meditation is one of the best things you can do to increase your productivity. Personally, I like doing 3-minute long guided meditation sessions on the app Balance. But meditation doesn’t have to be complicated – you can simply try taking 10 deep breaths to clearn your head.
Food + water
Some people skip breakfast on purpose. Those people are clearly criminally insane. Make sure that you eat a healthy and filling breakfast so that you have the energy to start your day off right. Also, don’t forget to stay hydrated!
Learn something new
The morning is the perfect time to absorb some quick knowledge, since you have a lot of energy and motivation! Try learning a new language through Duolingo, reading a book on a topic you’re interested, or simply quizzing yourself with some flashcards!
