Start your day with a bang: how to be productive in the morning

Do you ever wake up and just know that today will be a productive day? Do you want to feel like that everyday? It’s very important to start your day off right (no, this isn’t an ad for breakfast cereal) because your morning is like the frame for your entire day. Have a good & productive morning, and you’ll have a good & productive day.

Don’t snooze

If you start your day by hitting the snooze button 17 times, you probably won’t have a good day. Not only will it mess up your sleep schedule, but it’ll put you in a snoozing mindset: you’ll get in the habit of procrastinating important things. Set your alarm at the time you want to wake up, not the time you aspire to wake up at.

Read a book

Reading a book for 15 minutes is a great way to ensure you’ll be productive for the rest of the day. That’s because reading is an easy way to be productive. It essentially acts as a small win, giving you a sense of accomplishment that motivates you throughout the rest of the day. Also, if you like to read, then it’s just a fun, relaxing thing to do in the morning.

Put your phone away

Don’t reach for your phone first thing in the morning. Ideally, keep it far away from your nightstand. No, you won’t miss any important texts. Checking your phone as soon as you wake up is a terrible way to start your day because it’s designed to waste your time. Before you know it, it’s 1pm and you still haven’t gotten out of bed.

Eat something light

Obviously, you need fuel for the day. Try not to skip breakfast: you need that energy to keep you going. In the morning, eat food that’s light but full of protein. Skipping breakfast can cause you to quickly get hungry, and being hungry can actually decrease your ability to focus.

Exercise!

Exercising is the easiest way to release endorphins – happiness hormones! And who doesn’t want to be happy? To start your day off in a good mood, do some exercise. You don’t have to run a marathon; going for a walk or working out will suffice. Find a form of exercise that you enjoy and stick to it. Even 15-30 minutes is enough.
